How an AI agent can discover and inspect a dataset

A practical walkthrough of the remote dAgentBase MCP endpoint: search, preview, claim free data and hand paid checkout to a person.

An agent should inspect a dataset before depending on it. A listing with a sample, schema, source and licence gives the agent context to decide whether it is relevant and what still needs human review.

Connect the remote MCP endpoint

Use https://dagentbase.com/api/mcp in a compatible client. The MCP setup guide has the current configuration. There is no package installation required for the remote endpoint.

Search, inspect, then use

The agent can call search_listings and preview_listing before claiming anything. Inspect the listing's coverage and permitted uses, then use purchase_listing for a free claim. A completed claim can be followed with get_download_urls. Those signed links expire, so retrieve a fresh one when needed.

Keep a person in paid checkout

A paid listing returns a Stripe checkout link. A person completes that purchase in the browser; the agent does not independently authorize a charge. After confirmation, the buyer can request access through the MCP tools.

Check the limits of the metadata

A structural quality grade can reveal missing values or stale updates, but it does not verify every observation or grant rights beyond the listing's licence. Read the source and terms for the specific dataset you plan to use.

Find a dataset and run the same search and preview from your MCP client before building it into a workflow.
